The Follow Your Star Foundation is a non-profit corporation created with the aim of inspiring youth to overcome negativity, pursue extraordinary goals and live exceptional lives.

FXpoMay4thNickYoda6914_n copyIt is founded by “that Yoda Guy” Nick Maley who, at the age of 13 years, was told that his dreams of  working in the entertainment industry were impractical and that he should accept that he was destined to work in a factory.  Instead Nick made 53 movies, painted over 400 paintings, contributed to the creation of Yoda and other characters for Star Wars and now, through FYSF, endeavors to encourage both children and adults to have the courage to follow their dreams and strive to realize their full potential.

The FYSF is currently raising funds to achieve our goals through various projects.

FXpoMay4SWFNNickYoda038The largest proposed project is the administration of FXpo, a pseudo holographic movie museum honoring movie maestros and featuring FX techniques from some of the world’s most popular movies. Scheduled to start assembly in Germany in 2015, it is hoped that, if FXpo progresses as envisioned, a version of the exhibit might commence a world tour in 2019.

Past events include the “May the 4th be with you” Star Wars Marathon Weekend in Nuremberg May 3-4 2014. The event was held with the kind collaboration of Disney, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox,
Cinecitta Multiplex and the fan groups Star Wars Fans Nuremberg and Spieler-Abenteurer-Phantasten.

Nobody ever points out that another word for “normal” is “average”. And you can’t be extraordinary and normal at the same time.

It is hoped that FXpo will bring a little Hollywood to Nuremberg, Germany where the exhibit is being assembled. There has been much speculation as to the exact location. Whilst we can’t be definitive at this time, we can confirm that Quelle is a favored site.

It’s not always the people who are the most talented that succeed. It’s the most persistent.

”Associates”

There are literally hundreds of entertainment associates upon whom we can draw for FXpo showcases. We are not free to name them all at this time. But this is a list of people who have agreed to publicly lend their support to FXpo.

Sponsors

“The people who fail are the ones that give up!”

[title_bar  heading=”Volunteer”]

The FXpo team are inviting members of the public to show their support for FYSF & FXpo by signing up to be a volunteer… for a day or two, or a month… or to join out permanent pool of helpers which we affectionately call the “FXpo Visioneers”. Come join the fun.

Once FXpo gets underway, permanent employees will be needed and most jobs will go to people who proved their worth as volunteers in the initial phases of the project. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to work with a Star Wars celebrity and to help create the world’s first holographically narrated movie museum.

We are looking for: general assistants/volunteers & personable representatives – available in Nuremberg, actors – effects make-up artists – CosPlayers – personal assistant/secretary – capable all round maintenance/construction workers – animators – videographers – handymen – whatever your skill – come help us create the first museum for the 21st Century.
